Recap of the Second Symposium 2024

Over two inspiring days in July 2024, the Students of Spiritual Science Symposium brought together the visionary work of the next generation of spiritual science students and practitioners.

We welcomed a diverse gathering of academics, artists, musicians, ceremonialists, and passionate changemakers dedicated to shaping a meaningful world for future generations. Participants shared groundbreaking perspectives on consciousness, innovative earth technologies, social and eco justice initiatives, climate solutions, heart-centered living, feminist perspectives in Transpersonal Psychology, and holistic mental health solutions. Artists and musicians enriched the experience with transformational creations that resonated deeply with the symposium’s theme—Visions of a New Paradigm.

Designed as a powerful catalyst for education and transformative change, the Symposium featured engaging academic presentations, insightful panel discussions, experiential workshops, and vibrant creative offerings of music, poetry, and visual art. This diverse approach demonstrated beautifully how science and spirituality intersect, sparking heart-centered dialogues and actionable insights for navigating the uncertainties of our times. The Symposium uniquely highlighted how different pathways—whether spiritual, scientific, or artistic—can converge to reveal unified truths, fostering harmony between the intellect and the heart.

“it was a wonderful event, and beautifully organised. I really appreciated always knowing what I needed to do and what was happening, in a practical sense as well as more broadly. I loved the conversations which were opened up, which will give me food for thought for some time to come.”

Guided by our central theme, “Visions of a New Paradigm,” submissions addressed profound and timely questions, including:

  • What could a new paradigm offer to present and future generations?
  • How might postmaterial understandings of consciousness affect social justice and relationality?
  • What does a new paradigm mean in a world riddled with wars?
  • What alternative worldviews and philosophies might help to develop our collective vision of a new paradigm?
  • How might we envision a reciprocal relationship with the natural world, filled with respect, interconnectedness, and awe?
  • In what ways could a new paradigm influence well-being?
  • How can you contribute in your own way, to engaging with these, and any other, issues that may be of concern to you through your work/research/practice?

Participants shared their unique approaches to these critical issues through research, professional practice, artistic expression, and community engagement.

This vibrant online event occurred on July 5th and 6th, 2024, inviting undergraduates, postgraduates, next-generation thinkers, SMN members, and all individuals dedicated to positively shaping our collective future.

“I wanted to thank you for putting this together, it was such an honor to be a part of such an inspiring group of people I really enjoyed the experience. This event is a great way for us students to start sharing our ideas now, rather than having to wait until we are more established in our respective fields, so thank you so much for that!”

By intentionally blending creative expression with rigorous academic exploration, the Symposium vividly demonstrated that complete knowledge arises from integrating diverse pathways—whether through analytical research, artistic creativity, or intuitive wisdom.
